Yolanda Cardona, Attorney

Yolanda is a highly skilled and versatile litigator at Kightlinger & Gray’s Indianapolis office. Yolanda focuses her practice on handling insurance coverage issues, insurance bad faith, general insurance defense, and general civil litigation.

Prior to joining Kightlinger & Gray, Yolanda gained extensive experience in a variety of roles in a fortune 50 insurance company. In her role as claim litigation counsel, Yolanda gained significant experience in insurance defense litigation. Yolanda successfully managed and defended hundreds of first-party and third-party matters stemming from premises liability and automobile accidents ranging in complexity from soft tissue to catastrophic/wrongful deaths. Yolanda has extensive experience in all phases of litigation and has successfully defended a variety of cases through bench and Jury trials. An avid oral advocate, Yolanda has appeared and argued on behalf of her clients before many Courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Yolanda also gained extensive leadership skills while in her role as supervising counsel for the corporate law division. As supervising counsel, Yolanda successfully supervised and led a team of retained counsel in their defense of extra-contractual litigation and bad faith matters.

Yolanda earned her undergraduate degree from Purdue University Northwest in 2008. Yolanda then attended Valparaiso University Law as a recipient of a Heritage scholarship graduating in 2013 cum laude. While in law school, Yolanda participated in Moot Court, Immigration Clinic, and served as a Law Clerk of the Indiana Court of Appeals. In addition, Yolanda earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter® (CPCU) designation in 2018 gaining a trusted credential in risk management and insurance. Yolanda is licensed to practice law in both Indiana and Illinois.
