Samantha J. Mihail
Samantha Mihail is an associate attorney at Kightlinger & Gray’s Merrillville, Indiana office. Her practice is focused on insurance defense, employment law, and appellate work. Samantha joined the firm in 2017 after practicing employment law and complex civil rights defense litigation in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Her background also includes work in criminal and family law as a public defender in Vermillion, Fountain, and Montgomery Counties. While studying for her JD, Samantha also worked as an extern with the Ohio Industrial Commission, providing recommendations to general counsel on worker’s compensation appeals. Samantha earned her undergraduate degree, with honors, from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she served two consecutive terms with AmeriCorps, Sycamore Service Core, as group leader and mentor serving underprivileged girls in Vigo County. Samantha graduated summa cum laude from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. While attending law school, Samantha served as an Associate Note Editor on the Capital University Law Review.
