M. Brian Coppinger
Brian, a born and raised Hoosier, graduated from Indiana University in 2013 and earned his J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2020.
He served as a law clerk for Judge Cale Bradford on the Court of Appeals of Indiana for almost two years. During such time, he was able to assist the Judge with a variety of legal research and projects, including co-authoring an article, “Technology and Process: How Changing Rules and Technology will Impact the Legal Profession, The Justice of Due Process Protections, and How we Judge Competence.”
In August of 2022, Brian joined the City of Indianapolis’s Office of Corporation Counsel’s Litigation Division. He was eventually promoted to Senior Litigation Attorney, which position covered the practice of municipal tort defense work, constitutional torts, tax, and employment-discrimination claims. He defended the City of Indianapolis in state and federal court at the trial and appellate level.
Brian joined Kightlinger and Gray, LLP, in April of 2026, and is eager to connect and serve his clients and continue growing his practice.
