John Halstead is an attorney in the Merrillville (northern Indiana) Kightlinger & Gray office with over 20 years’ experience representing insurance companies and their insureds in automobile, homeowner’s, and commercial liability claims, as well as self-insured businesses in premise liability and worker’s compensation defense. John also represents title companies and their insureds in title insurance and escrow claims, and local contractors in mechanic’s lien and construction litigation.
John has presented seminars on Indiana Mechanic’s lien law and how to avoid the most common mistakes made in filing mechanic’s liens. John represents clients in both State and Federal jurisdictions and at the trial and appellate levels, as well as before the Indiana Worker’s Compensation Board. In addition to his robust practice, John is the head of the firm’s Merrillville office leading a team of excellent litigators and serving on the firm’s DEI Committee. John also has taken an active role in mentoring the firm’s associates as a member of the Associate Professional Development Committee.
