Jeffrey D. Hawkins

Jeff Hawkins is a member of Kightlinger & Gray’s five-member Management Committee and a seasoned trial attorney with extensive experience in complex litigation and catastrophic loss defense. He routinely represents national retailers, hoteliers, and professionals in matters involving bodily injury, property damage, indemnity, defamation, invasion of privacy, and legal malpractice.
Jeff also has a strong background in product liability defense, including claims of manufacturing defects, failure to warn, and defective design. In addition to his litigation practice, he advises clients in estate planning—drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives—and manages probate administration and related disputes.
In addition to his litigation and advisory roles, Jeff is a Registered Mediator and regularly serves as a neutral in personal injury, estate, and commercial disputes. His dual experience as both an advocate and a mediator allows him to bring practical insight and balance to conflict resolution.
He is admitted to practice in both Indiana state and federal courts, is active in several legal organizations, and frequently speaks on issues related to litigation, professional liability, and estate planning.
