Ginny L. Peterson - Kightlinger and Gray LLP

Ginny Peterson is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) with extensive experience in pre-suit evaluation and litigation, Ginny’s practice areas include General Liability, Property, Life, Disability and Environmental Insurance Coverage, Bad Faith, Professional Liability Defense Litigation mainly of insurance agents and attorneys, insurance issues, environmental defense and appellate work in each of her practice areas.

Prior to practicing law, Ginny held underwriting, product development, and management positions with property casualty insurance carriers for 19 years and earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation in 1987. She is an active member of the CPCU Society, and has served as president and a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Indiana Chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society for many years. She has also served in various leadership roles with the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial Insurance Practice Section, including acting as the program chair for the 2010 TIPS Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee mid-year meeting, which encompassed planning and implementation of two days of seminars and social events, and as chair for the Committee. In 2013, she was selected as the Central Indiana Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) Society’s Member of the Year, in 2014 was awarded the Mark Gray Award for her years of contribution to CPCU and the insurance industry and in 2018 was awarded the Ignite the Torch award from the Pass the Torch for Women Foundation. She has also been selected for inclusion on the Super Lawyers list published in Indiana Super Lawyers Magazine, every year since 2012, and named as one of the Top 25 Female Attorneys in Indiana. She is a frequent speaker for legal and professional insurance organizations.
