Andrew spent decades preparing for his role as an associate attorney at Kightlinger & Gray. He enlisted in the United States Army after high school to earn money for college and served on active duty as a Signals Warfare Intelligence Analyst for three years. During this time, Andrew maintained a top-secret security clearance. He was also awarded the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal after he completed a six-month deployment to the Middle East in 2003.

Andrew earned a Legal Studies degree from Ball State University in 2008. While he was at Ball State, he was a member of the Mock Trial Association, and he worked as a paralegal for several litigators. Andrew graduated first in his class and was named the Joseph E. Menez Outstanding Senior in Legal Assistance. He was also awarded the Herbert H. Hamilton Scholarship and a Citation for Academic Excellence from Ball State University’s President Jo Ann Gora in 2008.

Andrew earned a Juris Doctor degree from Notre Dame Law School in 2011. There, he was a member of Notre Dame’s Moot Court Board, and he represented the law school at the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Andrew was also a research assistant to the Honorable Kenneth F. Ripple and an intern at the Saint Joseph County Public Defender’s Office during law school.

Andrew represented plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation as an associate attorney, and he taught several courses for the Legal Studies Department at Ball State after law school. In 2014, he began working for the Litigation Section at the Consolidated City of Indianapolis and Marion County’s Office of Corporation Counsel. There, he helped the office investigate and respond to thousands of notices of tort claims. He also helped clients obtain final judgments in hundreds of cases. While working as Deputy Chief Litigation Counsel, he helped mentor dozens of attorneys and provided feedback on the documents that they filed in federal and state courts. Andrew also worked as a Deputy Attorney General at the Office of the Indiana Attorney General, and he was a member of the Travelers Staff Counsel Program from 2022 to 2024. While at Travelers, Andrew worked on cases involving civil rights as well as personal injury claims.

Andrew has built extensive experience working on claims at different stages of the litigation process. He has investigated thousands of claims before lawsuits were filed. He has also worked on over 100 dispositive motions that were granted and over a dozen cases that proceeded to trial. Andrew has presented oral arguments to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and worked on dozens of appeals that were resolved in his clients’ favor. Andrew has also helped his clients settle hundreds of matters during informal negotiations, mediations, and settlement conferences.

When Andrew is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and dog, Ollie. He also considers himself a lifetime learner, and he enjoys learning about a wide range of topics.
